Bangladesh and Australia women's team will meet tomorrow in the first ODI in Mirpur, Sher-e-Bangla. The captain of the Bangladesh team came to the press conference today before the match Nigar Sultana Jyoti.
In the press conference, Jyoti was asked whether this series with Australia is the biggest. In response, Jyoti said, 'So far, of course, they are the better side of the world and world champions. Playing against them is a great experience for the team. The way we've been playing, playing cricket for the last 6/7 months, they definitely didn't take us lightly if you look at their squad (strong squad). The World Cup (the upcoming Women's Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh) is also here.'
When asked where Bangladesh will be ahead in the series with Australia, Jyoti said, 'The first is home conditions, I think they are very unfamiliar in terms of conditions.'
However, many women in the Australian team have played in the IPL. Referring to that, Jyoti said, 'Recently many of their players have been playing in the IPL. So the wickets of Bangladesh and India remain the same. They know at least a little about the conditions in which the game will be played.'
The Bangladesh captain feels that the team's batting has improved more than before. "If we think from our side, recently when we have been playing from South Africa, our batting has felt much stronger. When India played Pakistan at home, I felt the bowling was much stronger. This is good for the team. Now the important thing tomorrow is who can contribute more to the team from which unit.'
