Rohit Sharma has already retired from T20 after winning the World Cup. However, he said that he will continue to play in ODI and Test cricket. However, it was unclear whether he would be in the leadership. Finally it became known that under his leadership India will play 50 overs and 5 days cricket till next year.
BCCI Secretary Jai Shah announced the name of Rohit as ODI and Test captain. On Sunday, he confirmed that Rohit will lead the Champions Trophy and Test Championship next year.
One of the 2 other major tournaments in 2025 is the Champions Trophy in Pakistan in February. And the other is the World Test Championship. Jai Shah hopes that India will reach the final of the World Test Championship and win it. And that final match is scheduled to take place at Lord's in London in June.
ANI uploaded a video on the X handle, in which Jay Shah claimed, "I am confident that under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, we will win the World Test Championship final and the Champions Trophy."
