As the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) gears up for an exciting season, organizers have taken innovative steps to captivate fans' attention. This year, the 2024 BPL logo, designed to resemble traditional rickshaw paint, has left a lasting impression on cricket enthusiasts.
Adding to the spectacle, the BPL Governing Council made a distinctive choice by unveiling the tournament trophy two days prior to the first ball being bowled. The captains of the BPL teams gathered in front of the seven Bir Shreshtha sculptures in Dhaka Cantonment for this special ceremony. Notably, Sylhet Strikers' captain, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, was absent during the trophy unveiling, with Vice-captain Mohammad Mithun representing the team. The ceremony saw the participation of captains Tamim (Barisal), Enamul (Khulna), Liton (Comilla), Sohan (Rangpur), Mosaddek (Dhaka), and Shubhagat (Chittagong), who collectively unveiled the trophy.
In a video message from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), captains were seen passionately chanting their team slogans after being introduced.
The highly anticipated tenth season of the BPL is set to commence on January 19. The opening day will witness Comilla Victorians and Great Dhaka facing off at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The evening match will feature Sylhet Sixers against Chittagong Challengers. Over the course of 43 days, a total of 46 matches will unfold in Dhaka, Sylhet, and Chittagong, promising an action-packed cricketing extravaganza
