The ODI World Cup was held on Indian soil in October last year. Bangladesh's performance in that event was disappointing due to various controversies over Shakib-Tamim. They won only two matches. Had to lose to a team like the Netherlands. BCB led by Nazmul Hasan Papon has not yet disclosed the money received from that World Cup to the cricketers.
The ICC has a special allocation for teams participating in the World Cup. They get certain amount of money for winning each match. But the cricketers have not received that money yet, complained the general secretary of QUAB, Debbrata Pal. He told reporters in Mirpur on Sunday, "Do you know that the 2023 ODI World Cup was held in India, the cricketers have not received that money from BCB yet?"
Bangladesh received 100,000 dollars in prize money to participate in the main stage of the 2023 World Cup. Two matches won another 80 thousand dollars. Debabrata also said, 'As far as I know there is an agreement to pay this money, probably within 15 days this money has to be paid. The management and professionalism of the cricket board including the umpires committee... cricket is a gentleman's game. But there was no politeness here.'
