A five-match T20 series against Zimbabwe next month. After that, T20 World Cup in June. Tiger cricketers gave fitness test keeping the long schedule in front. Under new strength and conditioning coach Nathan Kelly, the cricketers took part in the test at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday (April 20). Did running too. On this day, 35 cricketers ran 1600 meters.
However, Soumya Sarkar, Taijul Islam and Taskin Ahmed did not run due to fear of injury. This fitness test started at 6 am and lasted till 7:30 am. First, the cricketers did a light warm-up. Do light stretching. Finally split into two and run the 1600m sprint. The rest of the fitness test will be held at Sher-e-Bangla Indoor.
However, this is how the preparation before any series begins. It has been so long in Mirpur Shere-e-Bangla Stadium. This time it is at Bangabandhu Stadium. Due to continuous games in Shere-e-Bangla Stadium, the grass of the field has grown, the field has also become heavy. So naturally running there is tough for the cricketers. So BCB chose Bangabandhu Stadium's athletics track.
New Tigers coach Nathan Kiely wants to understand the state of fitness of cricketers by watching them sprint in such a place. After completing the first phase of preparation at Bangabandhu Stadium, the cricketers will once again return to Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla. There will be the rest of the preparation.
