Tragic Demise of Indian Cricketer on the Cricket Field
In a somber turn of events, a cricketer lost his life on the field while participating in an amateur league match in Muscat, Oman. The player, of Indian origin, was identified as Dhanesh Vajappilath Madhavan. This unfortunate incident follows the demise of another cricketer named Basant Rathore, who suffered a heart attack while playing in Ahmedabad, India on February 25.
The incident unfolded during a match in the amateur league in Muscat on a Friday, where Dhanesh Vajappilath Madhavan met a tragic end while playing for Sal Fighters Misfa.
Sreejesh, the captain of Sal Fighters, expressed that Dhanesh was a physically fit and accomplished all-rounder in their team. He had been a regular participant in the Friday matches for the past two years. Typically, the matches comprised 16 overs with tennis balls, and Dhanesh actively contributed both with the bat and the ball. Shockingly, after taking his position on the field, he suddenly lost consciousness, initially thought to be a momentary dizziness. Promptly, he was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, doctors declared him brought dead.
This distressing incident echoes a previous tragedy in the same league, where another cricketer named Mohammad Zafar met a similar fate. The cricketing community mourns the loss of these athletes and reflects on the inherent risks associated with the sport, even in amateur leagues.
