The auction for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled for December 19, with a total of 1166 cricketers from various countries, including India, vying for selection. Notably, among the six Bangladeshi cricketers listed, Shakib Al Hasan, an IPL veteran with considerable experience, is conspicuously absent from the roster. Likewise, Liton Das, who played only one match for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous season, is also excluded, having been released before the Kolkata auction.
The Bangladeshi contingent in the IPL draft comprises Mahmudullah Riyad, Hasan Mahmud, Shariful Islam, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Mostafizur Rahman, and Taskin Ahmed. Mustafiz has set the highest base price among them, standing at Rs 2 crore.
Indian cricketers dominate the auction list, with 830 players from the country registering their names. In total, 336 cricketers from various nations have thrown their hats into the ring, with 212 boasting international playing experience. Additionally, there are 909 cricketers yet to make their debut, including 45 from allied countries.
