Barisal Bulls clinched a commanding victory over Sylhet Strikers in a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) encounter, further extending Sylhet's winless streak in the tournament. Despite hopes for a turnaround upon returning to Sylhet, the Strikers faced another defeat, marking their fifth consecutive loss in the competition.
Chasing Barisal's target of 187 runs, Sylhet struggled with their batting lineup and could only manage 137 runs, falling short by 49 runs. Zakir Hasan top-scored for Sylhet with 46 runs off 34 balls, while Shamsur Rahman contributed 25 runs off 23 balls. However, the team faltered as they lost wickets at regular intervals, with Mashrafe Mortaza departing early after scoring just 2 runs.
Barisal's bowlers dominated the proceedings, with Mohammad Imran leading the charge by taking four crucial wickets. Miraj and Khaled also made significant contributions, claiming two wickets each to restrict Sylhet's batting lineup.
