In which equation Bangladesh can go to the semi-finals
Bangladesh made a great start in their first match in the Super Six of the Youth World Cup. Despite a great start with a 5-wicket victory over Nepal, the path to the semi-finals has been tough. Potential lives in the equation. For that Bangladesh should beat Pakistan in the next match and increase the net run rate.
Yuva Tigers' current net run rate is 0.348 after defeating Nepal. The next match is against Pakistan. Currently second in the points table, Pakistan's net run rate is 1.064. As such, Bangladesh will have to win the next match by a certain margin. A win should be achieved by such a margin that Pakistan's run rate falls below Bangladesh's.
Accordingly, the equation is that if Bangladesh bat first and score 250 runs or less against Pakistan, they must win by at least 50 runs. Pakistan must be all out or caught before 200 runs. In that case Bangladesh's run rate will be 0.001 more.
Again, if Bangladesh can score more than 250 runs, they must win by at least 51 runs. Thus, if Bangladesh scores 270 runs, Pakistan will have to be restricted to 219 runs. Or if you do 300, you have to keep Pakistan between 249 runs.
On the other hand, if Pakistan bats first, Bangladesh will have to finish the match between 38 and 40 overs. Accordingly, if the target is 300 runs, it should be won in 39.3 overs, if 250 runs, in 39 overs and in case of 200 runs, it should be won in 38.4 overs. That is, if Pakistan bats first, Bangladesh's exit is almost certain.
Note that there are total 12 teams in two groups in Super Six. These 12 teams are divided into two groups. On the basis of points, the best four teams of the two groups will play the semi-finals of the season. From there the two teams will play the final.
