Shakib's Dubai Sojourn: T10 Tournament Photo Shoot Amidst National Team Absence
Shakib Al Hasan, sidelined from the national team due to a prolonged injury, continues to be absent from the Test series against New Zealand and the upcoming return tour scheduled in the second week of December. Amidst this, the world-renowned all-rounder, who has been actively engaged in an election campaign, has flown to Dubai.
His visit to Dubai, which commenced on Saturday, is centered around fulfilling photo shoot commitments and sponsorship obligations for the Bengal Tigers team participating in the ongoing T10 tournament in Abu Dhabi. Although his stay is expected to be brief, Shakib, unfortunately, won't be participating in the current season due to a lingering finger injury.
Having played for the Bengal Tigers in the previous season, Shakib was retained by the team this time as well. However, his on-field participation remains curtailed due to the finger injury sustained against Sri Lanka in the World Cup. Despite being sidelined, Shakib is poised to provide encouragement and inspiration to his team mates from the dugout.
It's worth noting that in the twelfth national election of Bangladesh, Shakib has been nominated for the Magura-1 seat by the ruling party Bangladesh Awami League. The elections are slated for January 7.
