On and Off the Field: Morsalin's Entrance into Dhaka University
Morsalin has now become a student at Dhaka University, fulfilling the cherished dream of every parent in the country who aspires for their child to attend the prestigious institution. The parents of Sheikh Morsalin, the prominent striker of the Bangladesh national football team, namely Shefali Begum and Mujibur Rahman, harbored this dream for their beloved child. While Dia Siddiqui, Rituparna Chakma, and Nilufar Yasmin secured admission earlier, this rising star in the national football arena has now realized the dream. On Thursday, Morsalin completed all the necessary formalities for admission into the Department of Islamic History and Culture.
Despite the ongoing sessions, the 19-year-old forward for Bashundhara Kings faced delays in securing admission due to his demanding game schedule, preventing him from participating in the midterms. However, he intends to take the exams after the AFC Cup match in India scheduled for December 11.
Having achieved an impressive GPA of 4.44 in SSC and a perfect GPA of 5 in HSC in the Humanities stream, Morsalin is keen on balancing his academic pursuits with his passion for football. He believes that simultaneous engagement in both areas can contribute significantly to personal growth. Morsalin faced a setback early in his career with a suspension, but he made a notable comeback by scoring the equalizing goal against Lebanon.
