Taskin Ahmed Faces Recurring Injury Setback
Pacer Taskin Ahmed's battle with injuries continues as he suffered another setback during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), raising concerns about his fitness and availability for upcoming matches.
Taskin, who was undergoing rehabilitation since November after sustaining injuries during the World Cup, made his return to the field with the BPL. However, his comeback was short-lived as he encountered a back injury during the third match against Rangpur Riders on Saturday.
The severity of Taskin's back injury prevented him from completing his bowling quota and participating in batting, contributing to Dhaka's defeat in the match. Shariful Islam, Taskin's teammate, confirmed the injury and emphasized the team's cautious approach in managing his condition.
Shariful stated, "Taskin Bhai's back was experiencing mild pain, which is why he refrained from bowling or batting. We didn't want to take any risks with him. Hopefully, he will recover before the next match."
Despite Taskin's efforts, Dhaka suffered a significant loss to Rangpur by 79 runs in the match. Taskin managed to take one wicket for 14 runs in two overs before succumbing to the injury.
With Dhaka set to face Khulna Tigers on January 29, Taskin will have a day to recover before the next match. However, his availability remains uncertain as the team awaits further updates on his condition and hopes for a swift recovery to overcome this recurring injury setback.
