Bangladesh Supreme Court Advocate Barrister Shihab Uddin Khan sent the legal notice on behalf of Mushfiq. The legal notice is given in full:-

Dear journalist brothers and sisters,

During the Bangladesh-New Zealand Test series on December 6, former Bangladesh cricket team captain Mushfiqur Rahim's 'Out Obstructing the Field' focused on "Smell of spot fixing in Mirpur Test! Doubt towards the senior cricketer! A report under the title Ekattor Television's regular program Khelayoga's Facebook page and the report is broadcast on YouTube. There, Mushfiqur Rahim's 18-year long international career has been tarnished and his reputation tarnished by providing fabricated, untrue, motivated information about the dismissal of former Bangladesh cricket team captain Mushfiqur Rahim. The report comes at a time when the second Test of the Bangladesh-New Zealand series is underway. Due to the said report, Mushfiqur Rahim suffered loss of reputation at the family, social and personal level and he passed a mentally devastated time due to the report containing this distorted information.

In view of the irreparable loss of his reputation due to the said report, a legal notice has been sent to the head of news, sports editor and the correspondent of Ekattor television asking for the settlement of some issues. The notice on behalf of Mushfiqur Rahim was sent today by email by Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Shihab Uddin Khan. The legal notice sought resolution within 48 hours on four issues –

1. It has been asked to immediately remove the false and fabricated report from YouTube and other platforms and social media and take measures to remove it.

2. Ekattor Television has been asked to telecast the report on its TV channel with an unconditional apology for the report containing false and untrue and defamatory information.

3. Ekattor Television issued a press release asking them to apologize unreservedly for this fabricated, inaccurate report.

4. Mushfiqur Rahim has been asked to inform the authorities of Ekattor Television in writing that the concerned reporter Saiful Rupak has been warned not to make such false and fabricated reports in the future.

It has been mentioned in the notice that the publication of such a report on a well-known channel like Ekatar TV is unexpected, stating that the report was not carried out in accordance with the principles of journalism.
