Messi Returns to Miami for Pre-season Training
After an extended vacation, Lionel Messi has returned to Miami, marking the end of his travels to various destinations. Following the leisurely break, Messi spent the last part of his vacation with his family in Rosario before heading back to Miami for pre-season training.
Arriving at Fort Lauderdale airport directly from Rosario, Messi is set to join his Miami teammates in preparing for the upcoming American football season and the Copa America hosted in the United States this year.
Having last played a club or national team match on November 21 last year, Messi is scheduled to make his first appearance of the year on January 19 in a friendly match against El Salvador with Inter Miami.
The pre-season will feature matches against FC Dallas, Neymar's Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo's Al Nasr, Vissel Kobe from the Hong Kong League, and Messi's childhood club Newell's Old Boys.
The confirmation of Inter Miami's warm-up match against Dallas at the historic Cotton Bowl has heightened the anticipation, with Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson expressing excitement about the venue. Henderson remarked, "We are thrilled to play the 2024 pre-season preparation match at a historic venue like the Cotton Bowl." He added, "This match will be a significant test against our MLS opponents, and we look forward to making this season one of the most memorable in our history."
