In an impressive display of skill and determination, Bangladesh U-19 women's team secured a significant victory over their counterparts from Pakistan in the tri-nation series, marking their second consecutive win. The Tigresses emerged victorious by a commanding margin of 36 runs, showcasing their prowess on the field.
In a match held at the Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox's Bazar on Saturday (January 27), Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a competitive total of 136 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Sumaiya Akhter led from the front, top-scoring with a vital 32 runs off 24 balls, supported by notable contributions from other players.
Despite facing initial challenges during their innings, Bangladesh's batting lineup demonstrated resilience and determination, with standout performances from Arvin Tani, Sumaiya Akhtar Subarna, and Rabeya Akhter, contributing crucial runs to the team's total.
In response, Pakistan's innings got off to a promising start, with both openers forming a solid partnership of 50 runs. However, after the departure of Samia Afsar and Fatima, Pakistan's batting faltered, leading to a collapse in their lineup. Despite efforts from some players, none could sustain substantial scores, resulting in Pakistan being restricted to just 100 runs.
Anusha Nasir and Maham Anis were the standout performers for Pakistan with the ball, claiming crucial wickets. However, their efforts were not enough to counter Bangladesh's strong performance, as the Tigresses emerged victorious with a convincing margin, showcasing their dominance in the tournament.
