The upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to kick off in five days, marking the beginning of its tenth season. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has recently unveiled the finalized list of umpires for this year's tournament. Among them, three are international umpires, while the remaining nine are local officials.
BPL Umpire Lineup: 3 Foreign Officials and 9 Local Umpires Confirmed
The upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to kick off in five days, marking the beginning of its tenth season. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has recently unveiled the finalized list of umpires for this year's tournament. Among them, three are international umpires, while the remaining nine are local officials.
In addition to the umpires, six match referees have been appointed, all of whom are native officials. Enamul Haque Mani will take on the role of umpire coach. The trio of foreign umpires consists of David Mills from England, Asif Yakub from Pakistan, and Dayton Buttler from the West Indies.
The local umpires include Sarfuddaula Saikat, Gazi Sohail, Masudur Rahman Mukul, Tanveer Ahmed, Mahfuzur Rahman Litu, Morshed Ali Khan, Ali Arman Rajan, Mohammad Kamruzzaman, and Moniruzzaman Tinku.
Saikat, who did not officiate any matches in the last season, will miss the start of this season as he is currently overseeing a Test series abroad. Mukul and Sohail will also be unavailable initially due to their involvement in the Youth World Cup.
SM Rockibul Hasan, Akhtar Ahmed Shipper, Niamur Rashid Rahul, Salim Mahmud, Shawktur Rahman Chinu, and Ehsanul Haque Sejan have been appointed as match referees for the tournament.
