Kanpur Test will start tomorrow from Friday. Earlier today in the press conference, Shakib said that he played the last T20 of his career in the T20 World Cup.
Shakib said, 'I think I have played my last match in T20'. Which means the match against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup Super Eight was Shakib Al Hasan's last match in the shortest version of cricket. Shakib made his T20 debut in 2006 against Zimbabwe at the Sheikh Abu Nasser Stadium in Khulna.
When asked about the South Africa Test match at home in October, Shakib said, 'So far I am available. As there are many situations in the country, everything is definitely not up to me. I have discussed this with BCB. They have been told what my plan is. I felt this series and the home series would be my last series, specially in Test cricket.
Talking to the BCB president, Shakib said, 'This is how I talked to Farooq Bhai and the selectors. If there is a chance, if I go to the country, play, then the Mirpur Test will be the last for me. That has been said to everyone on the board. They are trying how to organize beautifully.
But Shakib did not know anything about ODI. It is believed that he will retire from ODI cricket after playing the 2025 Champions Trophy. Earlier in an interview, Shakib said that he wants to play till 2025 Champions Trophy.
In T20 cricket, Shakib scored 2551 runs in 129 matches for Bangladesh. Fifty is 13. He took 149 wickets.
