The New Zealand Cricket board unveiled the squad for the three-match T20I series on Sunday, appointing Williamson as the team captain.
The T20 teams were revealed on the same day as the announcement for the first ODI between the two sides, scheduled to take place in Dunedin. Following this, the subsequent ODIs are slated for December 20 and 23, leading into the commencement of the T20 series.
The three T20 matches are scheduled for December 27, 29, and 31, with the initial encounter taking place in Napier and the latter two at Mt Maunganui. The start times for the first two T20s are set for 1:10 PM, while the final match will commence at 6 am.
The returning players in the T20 squad include Jimmy Neesham and Ben Sears, joining captain Williamson. However, regular T20 opener Devon Conway will not participate in this series due to workload considerations. Additionally, Mitchell Bracewell, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, and Henry Shipley have been ruled out due to injuries, and Trent Boult has opted not to play in the series.
The complete New Zealand squad for the T20 series comprises Kane Williamson (captain), Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Ben Sears, Tim Seifert, Ish Sodhi, and Tim Southee.
