Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed the matter to the media on Thursday (February 22). He said that Shakib has taken leave from the Sri Lanka series. And so the return to the national team is getting longer for this left-handed all-rounder.
After last year's ODI World Cup, Shakib did not play for the national team due to a finger injury. Eye problems are associated with it. In response to a question about Shakib, BCB's cricket operations chairman said, 'Shakib's return to form, he was in form but he had a problem with his eye which was causing a problem. But that is temporary.'
Asked whether Shakib will play the Test series against Sri Lanka, Jalal Winus said, 'No, he has taken a break by playing the Sri Lanka series.'
