Royal Challengers Bangalore will face record five-time champions Chennai Super Kings on the opening day of the IPL. The match will start at 8:30 pm Bangladesh time at Chennai ground.
Before the opening match, the IPL authorities organized a colorful opening ceremony as always. However, a total of four new rules are being introduced in this year's IPL. Which have nothing in common with ICC international cricket and first class cricket.
Two bouncers in an over: Bowlers can usually bowl only one bouncer in the white ball format in international cricket. However, that rule has been changed in this popular tournament in India. From now on IPL will allow two bouncers per over. This rule has been changed to give additional advantage to the bowlers. Earlier, this rule was introduced in India's Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. Now it will be seen in IPL.
Change in review rule: In international rules, only the third umpire will consider the fielding team's review for being stamped out. In this case, it is not checked whether the ball hit the bat first or not. A separate review has to be taken for this. But from now on, if the review is taken for stamp out in IPL, it will be seen whether the batter is caught out or not.
Stop Clock Rule Off: International cricket has a stop clock rule. After the end of the over, the next over has to start within 60 seconds. The umpire also keeps an eye on it. However, there is no time limit between two overs in this year's IPL.
Smart Replay System: This system is being introduced for quick review in the ongoing IPL. The third umpire will be flanked by two experts for early viewing. For this reason, more high-quality cameras will be installed around the field. Reviews can be seen from different angles.
